The shocking moment a helicopter got caught in ski lift cables and lost control has been caught on camera, revealing the horrific final moments of two Russian businessmen.

Footage shows a black Robinson R44 helicopter inching towards the ski cables at Ashatly Park recreation centre in Russia’s Perm region, before getting caught in them and dropping to the ground.

The two victims were later named as, Ilyas Gimadutdinov, 41, and his colleague Elmir Konyakov, 40.

Both were executives at Tattranskom, a company that provides transport to Russia’s oil and gas industry and reported a turnover of $37 million last year.

Mr Gimadutdinov was the founder of Tattranskom and Mr Konyakov was the head of the convoy at the same company.

Both of the victims leave behind a wife and kids.

Speculation the flight was unauthorised has circulated on social media, however this has not been confirmed by authorities.

The ski resort was immediately closed following the incident.

Unfortunately, this is the second time a helicopter has crashed within days after a similar tragedy took place earlier in the week leaving a groom and his three nieces dead.

David McCarty, 59, was just hours away from saying ‘I do’ when the helicopter he was piloting for a sightseeing tour over the Telegraph Canyon in Arizona hit a recreational slackline that had been strung across the canyon.

The impact caused the MD 369FF helicopter to plummet to the ground about 11am on January 2.

Emergency crews were forced to trek to the crash site given the rough terrain, reaching the wreckage about 5pm.

Oregon-based Mr McCarty and his nieces Rachel, 23, Faith, 21, and their cousin Katelyn Heideman, 22, were all pronounced dead later that evening, according to local police.

Mr McCarty, an experienced pilot who founded Columbia Basin Helicopters in the 1990s, was set to marry fiancee Joelleen Linstrom, but had first taken his nieces for a sightseeing tour in his helicopter.
