Belconnen: Trail bike rider arrested after group do burnouts in car park of ACT police station

A group of rogue trail bike riders have fallen foul of the law after doing burnouts in the carpark of one of the ACT’s biggest police stations.
The brazen group launched a burnout raid on the Belconnen Police Station with one of the riders spearing his motorbike right up the front doors of the facility, before taunting police and speeding off.
A 19-year-old Higgins man then tried to evade police after performing the burnouts but his escape was foiled and he will now face the ACT Magistrates court on Tuesday.

Police attempted to approach the group before they rode away after ignoring police directions to stop.
A short time later police spotted one of the bikes on its side on Chan Street in Belconnen with the rider attempting to get back on the bike after a fall. Police said he then jumped back on and rode over a garden bed before falling off the bike again.
He was subsequently arrested while attempting to get back on the bike and charged with failing to stop a motor vehicle for police and aggravated, furious, reckless and dangerous driving.
The yellow Suzuki trail bike was unregistered at the time and the 19-year-old was found to be subject to good behaviour obligations.
