An Australian soldier has been killed in a training exercise gone wrong in the Northern Territory.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Australian Defence Force confirmed a soldier had died during a training exercise at the Mount Bundey Training Area on Monday.
Five other Australian Army soldiers were hurt in the incident but the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

“We request that the privacy of Defence members and families is respected at this time.”
