Australian woman missing in Canada: Search underway for Denise Ann Williams, 62, in Nova Scotia
The national park being searched is home to black bears, moose, and coyotes.

A search is underway in Canada for a 62-year-old Australian woman who has not been heard from in more than two weeks.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are searching for Denise Ann Williams in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia.
She was last heard from on April 15, when she told family members she was travelling to Chéticamp, a fishing village on Cape Breton Island.

Soon after, Ms Williams’ hire car was found at the visitor centre near the beginning of the Arcadian Trail, an 8.4 kilometre hiking trail in the national park. The loop should take three to four hours to complete.
A multi-agency search for Ms Williams includes RCMP, multiple ground search and rescue teams, police dogs, Department of Natural Resources Air Services, the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association, Parks Canada, Nova Scotia Public Safety Field Communications, and EHS Emergency Preparedness and Special Operations.
The national park is home to black bears, moose, and coyotes.
Ms Williams is described as a 5’4” with “greyish blonde, shoulder-length” hair.
It is understood she was last wearing a dark winter jacket, a powder blue beanie, an orange and blue scarf, and glasses.
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said consular assistance was being provided to “the family of an Australian reported missing in Canada”.
