DroneSharkApp confirmed that it was a great white, sharing footage of the animal swimming behind the waves on social media.
“At first, I wasn’t completely certain, but I was about 90% sure it was a white shark. After reviewing the 4K footage, that identification was confirmed,’ the post read.
“The lifeguards did a great job responding quickly and sounding the alarm to help keep everyone safe.”
The two beach closures come 11 days after a 34-year-old was mauled by what is believed to be a great white shark at nearby Coogee Beach.
She remains in critical care at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital, where she has undergone several surgeries, including the amputation of her arm.
