A 12-year-old boy has died and three people have been rushed to hospital after an allegedly stolen car ran off the road and rolled.

A young boy has been killed in a horror car crash in Far North Queensland.

A 12-year-old boy has been killed and three young adults are in hospital after an allegedly stolen vehicle rolled in a horrific crash in Far North Queensland.

The grey Toyota Fortuner ran off the road and rolled along Stratford Rd, Cairns in the early hours of Sunday.

Police say the car had been reported stolen from Mooroobool at about 3am.

A 12-year-old boy died at the scene of the crash.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, and a 19-year-old woman were taken to Cairns Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
