Elderly pedestrian killed after being hit by a truck in Sydney’s CBD

Police are appealing for information and dash cam footage from witnesses.

A pedestrian has died after bing hit by a truck in Ultimo, Sydney.

An elderly woman has been killed after being struck by a truck in Sydney’s CBD.

Emergency services were called to Harris Street, Ultimo, just after 9am on Tuesday morning.

A pedestrian, a woman believed to be in her 80s, was hit by a truck.

Paramedics treated the injured woman but she died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

The truck driver was not injured and the 40-year-old man was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Motorists are being asked to avoid Harris Street, Ultimo, which remains closed between William Henry Street and Mary Ann Street.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
