A man has been arrested following an alleged stabbing incident in Fortitude Valley early on Tuesday morning.

Queensland Police responded to an emergency call at approximately 3am concerning reports of a woman being stabbed at a Wickham Street address.

Upon arrival, officers found a 35-year-old woman with a significant wound to the neck.

She was quickly transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

A police spokesperson said the woman was now “in a non-life threatening condition.”.

Police located a 30-year-old man nearby and took him into custody.

As investigations continue, a crime scene has been established at the Wickham Street location.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
