Grandfather identified as man shot dead during hunting trip in Noojee, Victoria

A Gippsland family is coming to grips with a terrible hunting tragedy.

The man killed during a hunting trip in Victoria’s Gippsland region has been identified.

Albert Miller, 64, died on Saturday morning when he was shot in the chest in Noojee, about 40 minutes’ drive north of Warragul.

Investigators are still determining the exact circumstances of the incident but it’s believed the fatal shot came from the gun of one of the people with whom the grandfather was hunting.

However it is believed the shooting was just a tragic accident.

Police were back at the scene on Sunday.

Noojee is a popular hunting destination due to the significant number of deer in the area.
