The wife of an Aussie man who tragically died during a mid-air emergency has provided an update after launching a desperate search for the doctor onboard who tried to save his life.

Aussie mum Jay Richardson’s husband Shannon suffered a medical emergency during a flight from Brisbane to Los Angeles on September 7, 2023, when an off-duty doctor stepped in and tried to save him.

Ms Richardson, known as Jayjayricho on TikTok, posted a video last month in an attempt to find the doctor who “did everything he possibly could to help” during the mid-air emergency.

“The kids and I would really like to meet this doctor and to thank him in person for everything that he tried to do to help Shan.”

The woman’s video reached more than 60,000 views and finally led her to that doctor.

On Sunday, Ms Richardson shared the emotional update to TikTok.

“We found the doctor,” she began.

“I’ve just spoken to the doctor and he couldn’t stop apologising for not being able to save Shan.
