Kareela crash: Man dies after crashing into a fence and tree in Sydney’s south

A 42-year-old man has died after a car crash in Sydney’s south.

Around 10.30pm on Sunday, emergency services responded to calls of a single-vehicle crash at a golf club on Bates Drive in Kareela.

Upon arrival, officers from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command found a red Mitsubishi SUV had crashed into a fence before colliding with a tree.

A 42-year-old man was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

Despite efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are appealing for witnesses or those with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
