A man is in hospital with serious crush injuries after being trapped by his own ute, which was towing a trailer, in the carpark of a water theme park near Geelong, Victoria.

The accident happened about 9.30am in the carpark of Adventure Park Geelong off the Bellarine Hwy in Wallington.

Police say the ute was unoccupied when it started rolling, and the driver who was nearby jumped to try to stop it.
