Sam Wood’s former fitness empire has rebranded as evvr, with company records revealing the corporate structure behind the multimillion-dollar business and raising questions about his wife Snezana’s future involvement.

The online fitness and nutrition program, previously known as 28 by Sam Wood, unveiled its new name and purple branding on Wednesday, less than a month after its founder was charged with domestic violence offences during a family holiday at Noosa.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission records obtained by The Nightly show the new business name, EVVR PROGRAM, was registered on October 27 by Australian Life Tech Pty Ltd, the company Wood co-founded a decade ago.

The company’s ultimate holding company is listed as DBG Global Enterprises Pty Ltd.

Australian Life Tech’s directors are Mr Bastas and Ashley Gardner, DBG Health’s chief financial officer, who was appointed on June 11 this year.

The company secretary is Sue Morgan, DBG Health’s chief legal counsel, who has held the position since March 2024.

Mr Gardner and Ms Morgan are also listed as co-director and secretary at Vidacorp, where Mr Bastas is a director.

Neither Wood nor his wife is listed as a director or direct shareholder of Australian Life Tech or Vidacorp.

The business behind evvr was originally incorporated as 28 by Sam Wood Pty Ltd in 2016, before changing its registered company name to Australian Life Tech in 2019.

Wood founded the company with David Jackson, who became CEO, after rising to prominence on the 2015 season of The Bachelor Australia where he met Perth single-mum Snezana.

The couple married in 2018 and have four daughters, including Mrs Wood’s eldest daughter Eve, from a previous relationship.

The business rebrand has raised questions about whether Snezana Wood, who has previously promoted products associated with the 28 program, could have a future role in the business.

Mrs Wood worked closely with her husband’s fitness empire and appeared in a lot of its promotional material.

The Nightly has reached out to Mrs Wood and DBG Health for comment.
