Melbourne CBD shooting: 26-year-old man fighting for life after being found with gunshot wound to his body
A young man is fighting for his life after being found in the Melbourne CBD with a gunshot wound to his body.
Officers responded to reports of an injured man near the intersection of Spencer and Lonsdale streets at around 3.30am on Monday.
On arrival, police found a 26-year-old man from Cairnlea who had “sustained a suspected gunshot wound to the upper body”.

The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
“Detectives will investigate if those involved are known to one another,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
A large area was cordoned off for several hours as police gathered bags of evidence.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000.
