Alice Springs Hospital: Woman allegedly chased by five machete-wielding teens
Police were called after reports of a group armed with machetes pursuing a young woman and her friends near a Northern Territory hospital.

A 19-year-old woman has allegedly been assaulted and chased by a machete-wielding group of teenagers outside Alice Springs Hospital.
NT Police were called to the hospital about 6.15am on Sunday after reports three people “armed with machetes” were chasing a woman and several of her friends.
“The victim and her friends sought refuge in a security office, where security staff secured the door,” police said.

The car was later spotted and chased by police in the town’s north, but the pursuit was dropped due to safety concerns.
About 9.15am the same day, the dog squad located the white Commodore in bushland north of Alice Springs.
“Five males surrendered to police; however, it is believed three others fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival,” a statement read.
A 14-year-old and two 19-year-old males remain in police custody, and the other two were released pending further investigation.

Earlier that morning, police said the same Commodore was seen driving around the Alice Springs CBD.
Shortly before 5am on Sunday, police responded to reports of a “fight taking place outside the hospital”, where one man was allegedly armed with a machete.
“The group dispersed prior to police arrival,” a statement read.
About 12.20pm on Sunday, police arrested two boys, aged 15 and 16, at a house in Gillen after receiving information that they had fled from the white Commodore.
“The pair remain in police custody,” police said.
