A Qantas worker has been seriously injured after falling from an aerobridge at Sydney airport.

The shocking fall from the bridge happened in the T3 Domestic Terminal on Saturday afternoon and the woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, fell about six metres.

She has serious head injuries and remains in hospital.

“They were attended to by first-aid responders and transferred by ambulance to hospital for further treatment,” a spokeswoman for Sydney Airport said.

“Safe Work NSW has also been notified.

“Our focus is on the welfare of the injured staff member and assisting Safe Work NSW with their inquiries.”
