Armidale Secondary College: Two girls aged 11 and 13 arrested after four staff allegedly assaulted

There have been wild scenes at a NSW school, with two girls, aged 11 and 13, arrested over the alleged assault of four staff members.
Officers were called to a school in Armidale about 10.30am on Tuesday after reports of a violent outburst by two female students.
It is alleged the students had been attempting to assault another student when staff intervened.

Police say that during the arrest of the girls, the 13-year-old assaulted one of the officers.
A 34-year-old woman who arrived at the school as the incident unfolded has been charged after unleashing a torrent of verbal abuse at school staff and police.
She was initially issued with a move-on notice but allegedly refused to leave and was subsequently arrested.
Police say that during the arrest the woman allegedly resisted arrest before being taken to Armidale Police Station.
She was charged with refuse/fail to comply with direction, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and intimidate police officer in execution of duty.
The woman was refused bail to appear before Inverell Local Court today.
The two girls have been released pending further investigations.
