It is reported that the shopping strip, opposite Auburn train station, was crowded with lunchtime customers at the time of the attack.

NSW Premier Chris Minns said the criminals who committed this “shockingly brazen” attack could “expect to spend years inside small jail cells”.
“NSW Police Force investigators are already hunting down those responsible,” he said.
“We don’t stand for it and NSW Police doesn’t stand for it.”
The Premier added that the NSW Police has laid charges in relation to 20 out of 25 organised crime-related murders since 2021, saying “they’re not done yet”.
“People committing this kind of violence can expect to be arrested, charged and to spend years inside small jail cells,” he said.
