Blacktown: Ride-share driver allegedly attacked with machete after not allowing teen to connect to Bluetooth

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after he allegedly attacked a ride-share driver with a machete after he was not allowed to connect his phone to the car’s Bluetooth.
Police were called to Patrick Street, Blacktown, around 35km west of Sydney, on Sunday morning following reports of an assault.
When NSW Police arrived, shortly after midnight, they found a 31-year-old ride-share driver sitting in a Toyota sedan with lacerations to his arm.

Police say the teen, who was allegedly armed with a machete, left the car after the incident.
The driver was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Around two hours later, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home on Veleria Street, Toongabbie.
NSW Police said: “The teen was refused bail to appear before the Children’s Court today (Sunday).”
“He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.”
