Bonnyrigg: Three injured after marked police vehicle ploughs into car during high speed pursuit in Sydney

Two police officers and innocent driver injured in Bonnyrigg overnight.

Three people, including two officers, have been transported to hospital after a pursuit led to a high-speed crash involving a fully marked police car in Sydney’s south west.

At about 12.15am on Monday, police were engaged in pursuit of a black Mazda on Elizabeth Drive at Bonnyrigg, when their vehicle was involved in a crash with a white sedan at the intersection of Cabramatta Road West.

The sedan which was not involved in the pursuit suffered significant damage and the driver, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering neck and back pain.

Both officers were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and then taken to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.

The police driver will undergo mandatory testing and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
