Montrose: Man falls to his death inside silo at Boral quarry near Melbourne

Victorian Police and Worksafe will begin an investigation after a man fell to his death inside a silo at a quarry outside Melbourne.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon before emergency services were called to the scene, which quickly turned from a rescue to recovery operation after he was confirmed to have died.

Police believe the man, in his 50’s, fell into the silo at the Boral Quarry on Canterbury Rd in Montrose at around 4.30pm.

Although the man’s identity is yet to be confirmed it is believed he was a worker at the quarry

Worksafe and Victoria Police are investigating and a report will be prapeared for the coroner.
