A young man has been killed in tragic circumstances as his car ploughed through a roadside billboard and hit a tree.

Emergency servides arrived at the scene near South Grafton in NSW only to find the sole occupant of the car, a 25-year-old man, deceased

About 3.20pm on Tuesday, reports filed through after a vehicle crashed into a billboard and then hit a tree on Big River Way on the NSW North Coast.

Officers from the Coffs/Clarence Police District have established a crime scene and specialist police are assisting with the investigation.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
