Chippendale: Sydney e-bike shop blaze triggers mass evacuation

An e-bike shop in Sydney’s inner city has been gutted by fire, prompting a major emergency response in Chippendale.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to the scene on Wednesday morning, where flames had engulfed the shop and thick smoke was spreading to apartments above, Sunrise reported.

Dozens of residents were evacuated from the building as firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control.

Authorities say investigators will now work to determine the cause of the fire.
