Coogee Beach: Swimmers evacuate popular Sydney beach after shark sighting

Swimmers at a popular Sydney beach were given a scare on Tuesday evening after a shark was spotted.

Alarms blared at Coogee Beach as people raced to get out of the water, just days after several people lost their lives in shark attacks across the eastern coast.

There have been no reports of any injury in relation to the sighting.

Coogee Beach has been closed and the species of the shark, as well as it’s size, remains unknown.
