Coonabarabran: Police charges after man set alight on street in country NSW town

A man has been consumed by flames after being doused in liquid by a group of people, before catching fire as he walked along a street in country NSW.
Passers-by acted quickly to assist the 19-year-old as he burned, and were able to extinguish the flames before he was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police will allege that at around 6pm on Monday, the man was walking along Cowper Street in Coonabarabran when he was approached by a man and two women.

A short time later, police responded to calls concerning the “public order incident” and a crime scene was established.
Detectives and uniformed police located a 45-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 17-year-old girl at a nearby property before they were arrested and taken into custody.
They were transported to Coonabarabran Police Station where the man was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and affray, and the older woman was also charged with affray.
The pair were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 on Tuesday.
The teenage girl was released pending further investigation.
