Dubbo: Police officer bashed unconscious and left on side of country road in NSW
A police officer was left pleading for help from his workmates after he was assaulted and left unconscious on the side of the road in rural NSW.
Police are appealing for public information after the officer was seriously assaulted in the on the outskirts of Dubbo in the state’s west.
At about 4.30am on Saturday, an officer attached to orana mid-western police district, approached a vehicle stopped on North Minore Road, Minore, approximately 19kms west of Dubbo.

The man further assaulted the officer before he returned to the vehicle and left the scene.
The officer managed to call for assistance, however, was found unconscious near his vehicle a short time later.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a head injury, before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
