Ebor: Police hunting for man who fled after fatal campsite altercation in rural NSW

An argument at an isolated campsite in NSW has left one man dead, and the suspected killer at large having fled the scene.

A man is dead and another on the run following a deadly campsite scuffle in NSW.

Police received reports of a serious assault at a campground off Point Lookout Rd in Ebor, about two hours west of Coffs Harbour, about 1.40am on Monday.

It is understood two men were involved in a heated dispute before one of the men seriously assaulted the other.

The injured party, a 33-year-old man, was rushed 25km east to the rural town of Thora where he was treated by paramedics but died.

“Officers attached to New England Police District have attended the campground however have not been able to locate the other man,” police said in a statement.
