A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Sydney‘s southwest earlier this week.

The 80-year-old man was struck on John St, Cabramatta West, sometime around 8.35pm on Wednesday.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

On Friday police were notified that the man had died.

The 25-year-old male driver was not injured and was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

No charges have been laid and police are still investigating the incident.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner,” NSW Police said.
