Johns River: Police appeal for public assistance after body discovered on nature strip near Taree, NSW

Police are appealing for help from the public to piece together the final movements of a man whose body has been found deceased on a nature strip.

A police investigation is underway after the body was found at Johns River, approximately 36km south of Taree in NSW.

Police were called to the Pacific Highway, Johns River, at about 5pm on Sunday, following reports the body had been located.

Officers attached to Manning Great Lakes police district attended and found a man deceased on a nature strip behind concrete barriers.

He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 30s.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

A crime scene was established, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing.

Police are appealing for witnesses to identify a man who was reportedly seen walking southbound on the M1 Pacific Motorway between Kew and Johns River on Thursday, November 7 and Sunday.
