A young man has died and another is in hospital after a ute slammed into a tree in New South Wales’ Central West.

Emergency services were called to Kiacatoo Road at Condobolin just after 7pm on Monday following reports the vehicle had left the road.

The 24-year-old driver was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. His passenger, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from the Central West Police District have declared a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
