Kingswood: Woman pulled from western Sydney unit fire pronounced dead at Nepean Hospital
Fire rescue crews have battled an intense blaze that engulfed a western Sydney apartment and claimed the life of a woman.
Police, ambulance and fire crews responded to Triple-0 calls at about 5.45pm on Sunday, after reports that the unit on Richmond Road, Kingswood, was on fire.
The residence sustained extensive damage. and after extinguishing the blaze, a 50-year-old woman was pulled “unresponsive” from the unit, NSW Police said in a statement.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a critical condition, however, she could not be revived and was pronounced dead soon after.
Police who assisted in evacuating residents from the remaining apartments were effected, with two officers rushed to Nepean Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. Both have since been released.
A crime scene has been established and the Homicide and Arson Squad’s have commenced inquiries into the incident.
Police are preparing a report for the the Coroner.
