Lavington: Police appeal for public assistance after four-year-old hit and run near Albury

Police have cordoned off the area where a child was hit by a car and the driver allegedly fled the scene near Albury.

Local law enforcement are appealing for public assistance following the hit and run involving a child in Lavington on Friday.

At about 7am, emergency services were called to Dick Road, following reports the child had been hit by a car, before the car left the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a four-year-old boy at the scene for a possible head injury, before he was taken to Albury Hospital. His condition is unknown.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and have established a crime scene.

Dick Road between Cheyenne Drive and Boomerong Road remains closed.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police would like to speak to the driver of a white utility which was seen in the area around the time of the incident, as they may be able to assist with investigations.
