A man has been charged with murder after two people died following an alleged stabbing in Sydney’s north west on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to a home on Illabo Street in Quakers Hill just before 5am after reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police discovered the body of a 38-year-old woman in the kitchen with multiple stab wounds and located a 30-year-old man on a footpath with stab wounds to his stomach and hands.

The 30-year-old was treated by paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital, however, he could not be saved and died around 9am.

“A crime scene has been established, and detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Acoma,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

A 47-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident, and has since been charged with two counts of murder.

The man is appearing in court on Monday.
