Moulamein death: Police investigate after woman’s body found in home after house fire in rural NSW town
Police have established a crime scene after they arrived at the scene to find a home engulfed in flames.
New South Wales Police have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found inside a home following a blaze on Friday morning.
Officers were called to a property on Brougham Street in Moulamein, about 800km west of Sydney, after reports of a house fire around 1.20am.
Firefighters were also called to the engulfed house where they battled the flames and eventually extinguished the blaze.

“Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the fire.”
After the fire was put out, police searched the inside of the home where they found a woman’s body. She has not been formally identified.
“When the home was searched, a body of a woman was found inside the house,” the force said.
Police have since established a crime scene and continue to investigate the circumstances of the fire and the woman’s death.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
