NSW Nationals Deputy Leader Kevin Anderson reveals wife’s cause of death, thanks community for ‘love and support’
Grieving NSW politician Kevin Anderson has revealed the sudden death of his wife was caused by an undiagnosed medical condition.
Anna Anderson, a mother-of-three and a pharmacist in the Tamworth area for more than three decades, died on January 13.
Her husband, who is Shadow Tourism Minister and NSW Deputy Nationals Leader, broke the news in a statement where he announced he would be stepping back from commitments due to an “unforeseen and tragic family loss”.

“We sincerely appreciate the beautiful words shared about Anna, and the love and support shown to our families. This has brought us comfort during the most difficult of times; thank you,” he wrote.
Undiagnosed condition
Anderson also opened up on his wife’s cause of death and said a funeral was being finalised.
“Anna passed away suddenly last Tuesday due to what the coroner has determined was a cerebral haemorrhage or stroke, resulting from an undiagnosed medical condition,” he wrote.
“Our priority now is the love and support of Anna’s immediate family and the community that cherished her.
“We are currently finalising funeral arrangements to ensure her beautiful life of community care is honoured.
“A funeral notice will be published in the coming days.”
Anderson signed off his Facebook status with his and Anna’s family — “Kevin, Will, Ella & Sam Anderson and Scott, Jane, Kent, Kate & Flint Davidson”.

A colleague and friend who had studied with Anna said last week that the pharmacist had a “fantastic sense of humour, and her death was an “absolute shock”.
Hundreds more condolence messages were sent to the Anderson family through the MP’s initial post on January 15.
“Much love and sympathy to you and your family, Kevin,” read one.
“We first met Anna when she came to manage Tamworth Pharmacy.
“She was such a happy and friendly person and served her community with such generosity.”
Another said she had a “warm, generous and loving spirit”.
“Just devastating news,” the tribute began.
“Rest in peace dearest Anna.
“Your warm, generous and loving sprit will be missed. Much love to the family.”
‘God made a diamond’
A third person who “knew this wonderful human being” said “God made a diamond”, and a fourth described Anna as “quite simply a truly beautiful woman”.
“Kind and professional combined with empathy (and) strength. She has been so valued and respected in our community,” read the message.
“I can’t imagine the devastating loss her family are experiencing.
“Love, thoughts and deepest sympathies to (you) all. I know she will remain in (your) hearts - cherished beyond measure.”
Anderson limited comments on his latest statement, but it has attracted more than 2700 reactions.
