Police have arrested two alleged drug dealers in a sleepy country town and got more than they bargained for, including a bizarre array of illegal weapons and contraband.

A man and woman will face court charges following an investigation into drug supply in the NSW town of Cowra.

In December 2023, investigators attached to Chifley Police District established Strike Force Jeffre to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Cowra area.

About 6am on Wednesday, strike force officers executed a search warrant at a home on Dungaleer Street, Cowra.

Officers allegedly located and seized methylamphetamine, more than $67,000 in cash, prohibited weapons, a paintball gun, almost 200 buprenorphine strips, mobile phones, a laptop, handcuffs, fireworks, and a Ford Raptor utility.

A 39-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Cowra Police Station.

The man was charged with supplying a prohibited drug over a large commercial quantity, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, supplying a prohibited drug over an indictable and under commercial quantity, possessing a paintball marker outside an authorised paintball venue, and dealing with property proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Thursday.

The woman was charged with supplying prohibited drugs over indictable and under commercial quantity, and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.

The woman was given conditional bail to appear at Cowra Local Court on Wednesday 25 September 2024.
