A parent has been knocked unconscious after allegedly assaulting a student during an ugly brawl at an Australian high school.

The 53-year-old woman had intervened in an altercation between two students at a school on Shuttleworth Ave in Raby, Sydney, police were told.

Officers called about 3pm were also told one of the students was allegedly assaulted by her.

“At some point during the brawl, the parent fell over and was knocked unconscious,” NSW Police said.

She was treated at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is under way and inquiries are ongoing.
