Parramatta: Woman found in street, man arrested after high-rise balcony fall in Sydney

A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found in the street following a fall from a high-rise apartment block balcony in Sydney.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of the woman after she was found critically injured in Parramatta on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to a high-rise unit block in River Road about 1.40am, after a woman was found on the street suffering multiple injuries.

Officers attached to Parramatta police area command commenced CPR, however the woman was unable to be revived and died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene was established, with police speaking with a number of people at the unit block.

Police have been told the woman, believed to be aged 39, fell from the balcony of her seventh-floor unit.

Detectives have arrested a 40-year-old man which police allege is the woman’s partner. He remains at Parramatta Police Station.
