Pilot and passenger escape serious injury after light plane crashes onto Mona Vale golf course in Sydney’s north

The light plane was filmed flying low over the course in Sydney's north before crashing down in front of horrified golfers.

A pilot and his passenger have miraculously escaped serious injury after a light plane crashed onto a golf course in Sydney’s north.

The plane narrowly avoided golfers as it landed in the middle of the green at Mona Vale golf course about 2.20pm on Sunday.

Video of the crash captured by one of the golfers shows the moment the plane hit the ground, with people heard screaming in disbelief.

Multiple bystanders rushed over to help, with two men in their 50s walking away from the crash suffering only minor injuries.

It’s believed the pair were on a training flight from Camden to Wollongong that took off about 1.30pm.

The men were loaded into a golf cart and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in stable conditions.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified of the incident.
