A driver allegedly refused a breath test after his car became airborne off a motorway and speared into the roof of house in NSW.

Emergency services responded to reports that the car was in the roof of a home along Hindman Street at Port Macquarie on the state’s mid-north coast, at 9.30pm on Tuesday

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – a 38-year-old man – was trapped for about 25 minutes until NSW Ambulance paramedics, Fire and Rescue NSW and State Emergency Services personnel were able to free him

It will be alleged that the driver refused to undergo a breath test.

The man was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital to undergo a blood test where he was later released pending further inquiries.

Police say the vehicle crashed into a safety barrier and boundary fence before becoming airborne and colliding into the premises.

At the time of the incident a 62-year-old man was in the home. Extensive damage was sustained to the dwelling.

Miraculously, no one was injured.

Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
