Rouse Hill: Five-year-old girl dies after crash outside primary school in Sydney’s West

A five-year-old girl has died after being hit by a ute outside a primary school in Sydney’s North West on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Clower Avenue in Rouse Hill around 3.45pm following reports the child had been hit by a car.

Police were told the girl was riding a scooter on the footpath before she was hit by a Toyota Hilux.

She was treated on the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died.

The driver of the Hilux, a 42-year-old man, was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Both the ute and the scooter have been seized by police, to be forensically examined.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
