Balaclava and a hood: How alleged stabbing took place
In court on Tuesday, the first 15-year-old charged with murder
“It’s asserted in the affidavit that the victim was 17 with no criminal charges, he resided at home,” Magistrate James Viney said.
“The (15-year-old boy) has set upon the deceased in an unprovoked way and has stabbed him in the groin area.”

The magistrate revealed the 15-year-old, who was first charged, allegedly had his face covered by a balaclava and hood before the alleged stabbing.
Police fact sheets presented in court alleged the boy admitted to stabbing the teen.
“It’s asserted police believe the young person played a leading role, being the only person who used a knife to stab the deceased,” the magistrate said on Tuesday.
“It’s asserted this is confirmed by witnesses who have provided statements.”
The first teen charged in murder will now spend Christmas behind bars.
