A woman is still missing after she was last seen in a confused state before disappearing into bushland in Port Stephens, NSW.

A resident said a woman knocked on the door of their home on Cambage St, Pindimar, about 3pm on Thursday.

The homeowner said the woman appeared confused before disappearing into nearby bushland.

Police officers, dogs, PolAir and SES crews searched the area for hours.

“Following an extensive search, and as no missing persons reports have been filed, the search operation has now concluded,” a police spokesperson said.

“Police will continue to patrol the area and urge anyone able to identify the woman to come forward.”

The woman was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 65-70, of thin build, about 155-165cm tall, with shoulder-length curly blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing jeans with a floral pattern or leopard-print singlet top.

Anyone who sees the woman, or has information about her identity, is urged to contact Raymond Terrace Police or Crime Stoppers.
