Service NSW outage triggers statewide delays as customers advised to postpone visits

Service NSW has confirmed that its systems are back online after a major statewide outage earlier on Thursday that disrupted its service centres.
The outage had prevented staff from accessing critical information needed to process transactions related to vehicle registrations and licence renewals.
“Service NSW apologises for any inconvenience caused by a technical issue impacting most Transport for NSW related transactions,” a Service NSW spokesperson told The Nightly.

Earlier, Service NSW Transport Secretary Josh Murray told 2GB’s Mark Levy that the outage originated in the organisation’s drives database.
“It is a technical issue for our staff trying to access information that happened early this morning,” he said.
“Our operators can’t access information, and we are particularly concerned about people in regional areas.”
Online and other NSW Government services were not impacted.
