A man has died after being struck by an e-bike in an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney’s west.

Police say the 65-year-old pedestrian was hit by an e-bike on Settlers Walk, near Greenmeadows Crescent, at Toongabbie at about 9.50pm on Wednesday.

Officers were told the rider had allegedly fled after the collision.

The pedestrian was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

He died on Thursday.

Police arrested a man alleged to have been riding the e-bike at Seven Hills on Thursday afternoon.

The 45-year-old was taken to Blacktown Police Station but released without charge pending further inquiries.
