In October 2023, detectives attached to the state crime command’s organised crime squad’s casino and racing unit established a strike force antree to investigate corrupt and illegal conduct in NSW casinos.

During the investigation, strike force detectives identified a Sydney casino dealer and another man allegedly working together to rig roulette bets between September and October 2023.

Following extensive investigations, strike force investigators charged the 23-year-old casino employee – and a 22-year-old man with facilitating conduct that corrupted the betting outcome of the event and obtain/attempt to benefit from the casino by dishonest means.

They were both issued future court attendance notices to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 1 November 2024.
