Teen boy one of two killed in separate Sydney crashes, two critical

A 15-year-old boy is one of two people to die in separate crashes on Thursday.
The teen was a passenger in a hatchback which collided with a truck at Greenacre, about 20km west of the Sydney CBD.
Emergency services were called at about 8.10pm to the intersection of the Hume Hwy and Worth St. The 15-year-old boy at the scene.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.A second passenger, also believed to be a boy, was treated before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition. The driver, believed to be a woman, was also taken to Westmead in a critical condition.
A third passenger, believed to be male, was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition while the male truck driver was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.
The Hume Hwy remained closed eastbound at 10.50pm Thursday.
Earlier, a woman died after being struck by a ute in what police believe to be a hit-and-run in Sydney’s west.
The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was on Macquarie Ave in Penrith when she was hit before the driver allegedly left the scene without stopping.
Anyone with information on or dashcam footage of either incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Meanwhile, an elderly man has died a day after being hit by a car in the city’s Northern Beaches.
Police attended Dee Why Pde, Dee Why at about 5.45pm on Tuesday where they found an 85-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle.
He was treated at the scene for a head injury before being taken to hospital in a critical condition. Police were told on Wednesday he had died. The 75-year-old male driver wasn’t injured but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
