A teen learner driver has miraculously walked away from a crash unharmed after his car crashed into a tree in Sydney’s south.

A teen learner driver has miraculously walked away from a crash unharmed after his car ploughed into a tree in Sydney’s south.

The 16-year-old boy ploughed his ute into the tree on The Grand Parade, Monterey about 7.40pm on Sunday, police said, leaving a trail of destruction behind him.

Incredible images of the scene obtained by 7NEWS show the white ute flipped on its side, the windscreen smashed and debris strewn across the road.

The boy was trapped in the car for a short time before being freed by members of the public.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital for further assessment and mandatory testing.

An investigation has commenced into the circumstances of the crash.
