The second man suffered stab wounds to his arm and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Doctors said he was “extremely lucky” to have survived.
Police also confirmed that a third man was injured during the attack. He had been waiting at a nearby bus stop when he was inadvertently caught up in the violence.

Police sources allege four men dressed in black with balaclavas carried out the attack. It is believed one of the assailants said “are you 67” before the stabbing, a reference to one of Sydney’s postcode street gangs.
Detectives are investigating whether those attacked had any links to another gang known as RFA, Ready for Anything.
NSW Police described the stabbing as a “callous and vicious” attack. Officers believe at least two of the offenders were armed with kitchen-style knives. Items of interest have since been recovered at and around the scene.
Investigators believe the four offenders fled the interchange by running across the train corridor into Beams Avenue. CCTV from the area has captured part of their movements.
Police confirmed the victims were known to officers and were locals from the Mount Druitt area. Detectives are keeping an open mind about whether the assault was targeted or opportunistic.
A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.
