Traffic chaos as truck fire shuts lanes on M1 Pacific Mwy, Mount Ku-ring-gai

A truck fire on a major motorway north of Sydney led to long queues on Saturday afternoon.

The vehicle was carrying a speedway car at the time, and fire crews were called to the M1 Pacific Mwy at Mount Ku-ring-gai at about 1pm.

The driver was not required to be assessed by paramedics.

Photos from the 7NEWS helicopter showed heavy traffic banked up as two of three southbound lanes have been closed.

By Saturday evening one southbound lane had reopened.
